Currant Works is an architecture studio focused on the design of thoughtfully crafted single-family homes. The practice is grounded in the belief that a home should feel calm, generous, and deeply supportive of everyday life - shaped as much by how it is lived in as by how it is designed.

Our work is guided by light, proportion, and sequence rather than overt gesture. We are interested in how space unfolds and connects, how a home relates to its landscape, and how carefully considered architecture can feel expansive without excess. Strong indoor-outdoor relationships, framed views, and a restrained material palette allow the work to feel present while remaining warm and livable.

Much of our experience comes from working within real-world constraints - complex zoning, existing structures, and sites shaped by topography - which continues to inform a thoughtful and disciplined approach to new construction. Whether building upon what is already there or designing a home from the ground up, we bring the same care for context, constructability, and long-term performance, balancing contemporary expression with climate, landscape, and neighborhood scale.

Currant Works maintains a hands-on, collaborative process from early concept through construction. We value clear communication, careful coordination, and design decisions that are both precise and pragmatic. The goal is not simply to create beautiful houses, but to distill complexity into spaces that feel effortless, enduring, and genuinely lived in.

About founder

The architect, Anna Currant, standing in front of a red patterned tapestry.

Currant Works was founded by Anna Currant, a licensed architect and LEED-accredited professional whose approach to design has been shaped by curiosity, careful study, and hands-on experience across many types of projects.

She graduated summa cum laude as a Regents Scholar from UCLA and earned her Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Prior to founding Currant Works, she spent over fifteen years working at design firms spanning a range of scales and contexts, including SOM, HHF Architekten, and Clinton Murray Architects - experience that now informs a residential practice focused on clarity, craft, and bringing the discipline of larger projects into the warmth and livability of home.
