The residence in The Village transforms a small San Mateo house into a more open, welcoming home for a growing family. Designed around cooking, gathering, and an easy connection to the garden, the project reshapes the original house into a series of bright, flowing spaces.
A new sloped roof brings height and soft clerestory light to the center of the home, while the rear addition opens to the yard through tall glazing and a generous new living room. Tucked quietly at the back, the primary suite offers privacy, warmth, and a quiet sense of retreat.
