The Buri Buri Residence is an addition and renovation to a single-family home in South San Francisco, designed to help a growing family live more generously within a constrained lot. The project expands the sense of space through a carefully modulated open plan with varied floor and ceiling heights, a stepped-down rumpus room that doubles as informal theater seating, and a second floor organized around two primary bedrooms sharing a central core.

A rooftop terrace transforms limited outdoor area into a meaningful extension of the home, while light-filled interiors, restrained material choices, and subtle detailing balance contemporary expression with neighborhood context.
